How long do I have to wait for it to dry?

That’s the best part – you don’t! Because we never over saturate your carpet with moisture to begin with, there is no reason to wait hours – or even days – for it to dry. Your carpet will be dry and ready to use as soon as we’re done cleaning it!

Will my carpet get dirty faster after having it cleaned?

On the contrary! It will actually stay cleaner LONGER than compared to having it cleaned with a wet method. Here’s why: again, because the carpet is never over saturated with moisture, shampoos, or chemicals, there is no sticky residue left behind to re-attract dirt.

Will the spots come back?

No. There are a few reasons why a spot seems to “reappear” after cleaning. One is that it is never really removed at all. Often times, cleaning systems will force the spot into the back of the carpeting. Since you can’t see it on the surface any longer, you assume it is gone. However, as the carpet dries, the spot “wicks” back up the vertical surface of the carpet fibers. As it reaches the top surface again, the spot “reappears”.

Another reason relates to residue that is left behind following a wet cleaning. If a cleaner uses extra detergents or chemicals on a spot in order to remove it, and those detergents or chemicals leave a sticky residue behind, dirt, dust & soil are more likely to collect in the same area as the original spot. Consequently, it looks as if the spot has reappeared.

With the HOST System, neither of these conditions exist. There is no excess moisture to drive spots and spills into the backing of the carpet. Instead, they are absorbed into the cleaner sponges and removed through vacuuming. A trace amount of the sponges may remain at the base of the carpet following the cleaning; however, it is neither abrasive nor harmful. It will not re-attract dirt and will be removed with subsequent vacuumings.

My pet had an accident on the carpet. Can you clean that?

We can absolutely treat pet accidents. We have specialized products, tools, & processes that are specifically for this purpose. The success rate of complete removal will be dependent on several factors, including the length of time between the accident and treatment, what your pet ate or drank before the accident, how large the spot is, how deep into the padding it has penetrated, and what (if anything)has already been done in attempt to remove it. (Sometimes the use of household products results in setting the stain permanently rather than removing it.)

Do you move my furniture?

Cleaning your carpet with the HOST Method is a “non-invasive” method. That means we will only move light furniture if you specifically request it. For the most part, carpet underneath your furniture will be the cleanest in the house, therefore it generally does not require cleaning. We will not move electronics (televisions, stereos, computers, etc) and large heavy items such as entertainment centers, pianos, large hutches, etc.) but we will be happy to clean the carpet underneath if these items if you arrange for these items to be moved in advance

Background checks and drug testing are conducted on each employee prior to hiring, and we are fully insured. Our employees are knowledgeable and trained to execute their duties properly, efficiently, and safely.

I’ve heard it’s best to put off having your carpet cleaned as long as possible, is this true?

No. In fact, many of the major carpet mills today recommend professional cleaning at least one or two times per year. The build up of soil in your carpet in combination with foot traffic creates abrasions that breaks down your carpet fibers. The higher the traffic in a given area, the more often the carpet will need cleaning.

What do I need to do to prepare for the cleaning?

Depending on what cleaning package you desire we are willing to move some furniture but little items that may be precious to you we ask that you move those for us.

Secure pets so that there is no risk of them running out the door or walking on carpets while we are cleaning !

Can you get out all of the “stains”?

We would love to try! Some spills and spots may actually change the color of your carpet, therefore becoming a stain. Urine can stain the carpet almost immediately, and in many cases become permanent. Beverages with food coloring will dye the fibers, and oil over time will oxidize and stain. While most stains are permanent, others may come out with a specialized process.

We do not charge extra for spots and some stains, but others that require this specialized process may cost more. We do an inspection before beginning any work and inform you of any possible problems that we can foresee.

How often should carpets be cleaned?

The Carpet and Rug Institute recommends that household carpets should be cleaned every 8 – 12 months. Though many carpets may not visibly demonstrate the outward need for cleaning, pollutants in the air, allergens, and oils usually go undetected but should be removed. The longer time in-between cleanings, the more difficult the challenge to get the carpet back to original. Thus, a more frequent cleaning is recommended.

Why Low Moisture?

During the past 30 years there has been a trend in the carpet cleaning industry toward Hot Water Extraction (HWE) cleaning; also known as “steam cleaning”. The HWE method is an excellent cleaning method. Its strength is in its ability to rinse the carpet. Hot water extraction has become predominant within the carpet cleaning industry.

So why look any further than HWE? It’s true that HWE cleaning is capable of very adequate cleaning. However, low moisture methods also produce excellent results. Low moisture carpet cleaning is now being performed around the world. It’s being appreciated for a number of reasons… quick drying, water conservation, less contaminated waste water; less chance of soil wick-up, the list goes on.

There are an ever-growing number of carpet cleaners who favor low moisture cleaning methods. Many of these cleaning professionals use low moisture cleaning methods everyday to produce excellent results in their businesses.
